Hungarian fighter jets intercepted 5 Russian planes over the Baltic Sea, and drones were spotted again in Denmark

Two Hungarian fighter jets intercepted five Russian planes over the Baltic Sea. About this evening reported NATO Air Command.

It is noted that on September 25, Gripen fighters from Hungary took off from the Lithuanian city of Šiauliai to intercept Russian Su-30, Su-35 and three MiG-31s that were flying near Latvian airspace.

“Hungary demonstrates its commitment to the Alliance for the protection and security of the Baltic and the Eastern Flank,” the message reads.

At the same time, one of the airports in Denmark was closed again due to a possible threat from drones. This is the third such case in the last few days.

The airport in the city of Aalborg stopped working for the second time in a day due to the closure of the airspace. This information was confirmed by the North Jutland police chief Christian Tilsted in a comment to the newspaper Ekstra Bladet.

“It was closed at 11.40pm and it is suspected that a drone may have been spotted. We already had the police there and now some additional units have arrived. We have not received confirmation that it is a drone, but it is believed that someone has seen a drone in the area and that is why the airport has decided to close the airspace, Christian Tilsted said.

There is a significant number of law enforcement officers in the airport area. There is no information yet regarding the timing of the airport’s resumption of operation.

“But tonight the sky is very starry, just like yesterday, so it can be quite difficult to distinguish one from the other in the sky, and so we need to check it first. But, in any case, one plane was diverted, added the head of the police watch.
