Ihor Klymenko took part in the first meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for Prisoners of War

Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko took part in the first meeting of the Council of the Coordination Staff on the treatment of prisoners of war. About this informs press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The purpose of the newly created governing body is to ensure the coordination of interdepartmental positions and the formation of a strategic approach to the activities of the Coordination Headquarters. The meeting was chaired by the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyryl Budanov.

During the meeting, key aspects of the work of the headquarters were discussed, in particular, the activities of the group on the negotiation process, the creation of the Public Council at the Coordination Headquarters, as well as problematic issues related to the release of Ukrainian military and civilian citizens from captivity. They also considered the need for changes to the legal framework and the creation of regional offices and headquarters working groups.

According to the results of the meeting, the participants outlined the priority areas of cooperation and determined the first steps to speed up the process of returning Ukrainian soldiers and civilians from enemy captivity.
