Imports of diesel fuel to Ukraine increased by 18.4% in October

Imports of diesel fuel to Ukraine in October 2024 increased by 18.4% compared to September. This is reported by Naftorynok.
According to the publication, in October, diesel supplies by sea increased by 9.3%, and by rail by 27.1%. Imports of diesel fuel by road increased by 1%, but the share of road deliveries decreased by 2.0 percentage points to 11.7%. The largest share in imports was taken by rail transport – 35.3%, which is 2.4 percentage points more than in the previous month.
It is also reported that the average daily import of diesel in October increased by 14.6% compared to September.
It is worth noting that in September 2024, diesel imports to Ukraine fell by 25.8% compared to August, reaching the lowest level since March this year.
What is happening with diesel prices? According to reports, on 1 November, prices for diesel fuel in the small wholesale market started to rise. The average price of fuel for road delivery was UAH 43.09 per litre, which is UAH 0.42 per litre (+1%) higher than at the end of the previous month.
Since 30 October, diesel prices have risen by 0.56 UAH/l (+1.3%), but compared to 25 October, the increase was only 0.19 UAH/l (+0.4%), given that at the beginning of last week prices fell to their lowest level since 24 July 2023 (42.53 UAH/l).
The spot price of diesel fuel in Europe decreased by $4-7 per tonne over the past week, to $668-676 per tonne in the ports of Northwest Europe and to $672-682 per tonne in the ports of the Mediterranean. At the same time, on 31 October, compared to the previous day, diesel prices rose by $10-11 per tonne.
