In Cherkasy, in one of the neighborhoods, a man opened fire after he saw children picking lilacs near his house. This was reported by Zoya Vovk, a spokeswoman for the Cherkasy region police.
According to the police, there were no calls to the 102 hotline. The spokeswoman noted that law enforcement officers discovered the information while monitoring social networks and entered it into a unified register.
The police are currently conducting an investigation. It was previously determined that the conflict arose because of children who were picking lilacs near a private house. The man tried to catch up with the children, and when he failed, he took a gun out of the house and started shooting. According to the spokeswoman, there were no injuries.
“Law enforcement officers are now identifying the offender. A legal assessment of his actions will be provided after all the circumstances are established,” — Zoya Vovk noted.
