The Verkhovna Rada supported the bill on giving Ukrainian weapons priority in procurement

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the first reading draft law No. 13392, which establishes requirements for the share of localization of goods purchased by the state. This was reported by the People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Halyna Yanchenko.

According to the document, products worth more than 1 million hryvnias within the framework of state procurement must be manufactured in Ukraine or contain a Ukrainian component – in particular, assembly, installation or use of components.

The draft law provides for a gradual increase in the level of localization: up to 25% in 2025, up to 30% in 2026, up to 35% in 2027 and up to 40% in 2032.

“Less imports where possible – more orders for Ukrainian enterprises and more jobs for Ukrainians. And the main thing is not only about patriotism, but also about economic benefit. Up to 40% of the cost of Ukrainian goods is returned to the budget through taxes and works for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. That is why today I supported this decision. Because every hryvnia that remains in Ukraine is another step towards strengthening our army, ”, — Yanchenko noted.

Recall that on October 30, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a decision that allows the Innovation Development Fund to make purchases of special innovative technologies — in particular, robotics, unmanned systems, as well as dual-purpose or military developments — without conducting standard procurement procedures.

According to the resolution, the Fund may make such purchases without using the procedures provided for by law or simplified procurement mechanisms. This decision concerns technologies and equipment necessary for the operation of the NEXT experimental unit.
