In Europe, the discussion on sending the military to Ukraine is gaining momentum

Discussions regarding the possible deployment of troops to Ukraine are being actively discussed in several European capitals, but at the moment this topic is at an early stage. About this stated Minister of Defense of the Netherlands Ruben Brekelmans.

“We have to think about it now. But it’s still in its infancy. Anything I’m saying about it right now is premature. But this discussion has now started in several capitals and may be gaining momentum.” – he noted.

According to the minister, hasty agreements regarding Ukraine can cause serious risks. More time is needed to form a clear position, as there are currently no concrete proposals.

“The risk of negotiations now is that the Russian Federation now has an advantage. Russia will sell its bear skin dearly. They can sit back and wait. That way, you can quickly put Ukraine in the position of the requesting party. No deal can be concluded without the participation of the Ukrainians, they must be at the negotiating table. They are ready to negotiate, but with a good starting position, and for this they need as many military resources as possible. what will happen if such a truce or cease-fire is concluded.” – explained Breckelmans.

In the event of an agreement on a ceasefire or ceasefire, Ukraine will need reliable security guarantees, because there is a risk that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin may start testing these agreements immediately after they are signed. Brekelmans emphasized that any truce requires careful analysis of possible consequences.
