In France, an investigation has been launched against Musk’s social network “X”

The Paris prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into the social network “X” owned by American businessman Elon Musk, due to suspicions of “algorithmic distortions”. About this informs France Info TV channel.

The investigation into “X” (Twitter) was initiated after the appeal of the French MP from the centrist party “Together for the Republic” Eric Botorel. Back on January 12, he sent a letter to the cyber prosecutor’s office in Paris, in which he complained about the bias of the algorithms of Musk’s social network.

The prosecutor’s office noted that these algorithms “probably distorted the operation of the automated data processing system,” which was the reason for the investigation.

“Judges and specialized experts from the cybercrime unit are analyzing the situation and conducting initial technical checks,” – informed the prosecutor’s office.

We will remind that in January, the European Commission completed a preliminary investigation into “X” (Twitter) and will soon make a decision on imposing a multi-million dollar fine.
