Poland was outraged because of the symbols of the UPA on the equipment transferred to Ukraine

The use of red and black UPA flags on Rosomak armored personnel carriers, which were handed over to Ukraine, caused outrage in Poland. Minister of Defense of Poland Władysław Kosiniak-Kamys named this is a provocation.

“UPA flags on Rosomak armored personnel carriers, which Poland supplies to the Ukrainian army, are a provocation that should not happen.” – said the minister.

Vladyslav Kosinyak-Kamysh instructed to immediately contact the Ukrainian military attache in Warsaw to discuss the situation. Previously, Poland had already transferred about 100 Rosomak armored personnel carriers to Ukraine.

We will remind that during the Second World War, various partisan groups operated on the territory of Ukraine, among which were the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) and the Polish Home Army. At the time, both sides carried out mutual ethnic cleansing, explaining their actions as revenge for previous repressions and recent acts of violence.

According to the Institute of History of Ukraine, this was one of the most violent episodes of the Ukrainian-Polish confrontation during the Second World War. The names of about 30,000 Polish and about 10,000 Ukrainian victims of this conflict are known.
