In India, 17 people died due to an outbreak of an unknown disease

Authorities in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir are investigating a mysterious disease that has killed 17 people, including 13 children. About this informs Medical Xpress.
The first fatal attacks were reported in December in the remote Badhal village of Jammu district. Local authorities have declared the settlement a containment zone, so about 230 residents are currently in quarantine.
According to Amarjit Singh Bhatia, principal of the Government Medical College in Rajouri, all the dead had brain and nervous system damage. The victims were members of three families. In order to improve medical care, the winter vacation was canceled.
The federal government, along with Health Minister Jitendra Singh, launched an investigation. According to the previous version, the cause of death could be a toxin, an infection or a virus.
“A long list of possible causes is being analyzed. I’m sure the exact answer will be found soon. The possibility of criminal or malicious activity is also being investigated.” Singh noted.
