In March, Ukraine exported the most poultry meat in over four years
In March, Ukraine exported 43.47 thousand tons of poultry meat to foreign markets, which was the highest monthly volume since January 2022. This was reported by the Association “Poultry Farmers’ Union of Ukraine”.
The specialized association specified that compared to February, physical export volumes increased by 5.3%, since a month earlier this figure amounted to 41.08 thousand tons.
At the same time, according to customs statistics, despite the increase in supply volumes, the industry’s foreign exchange earnings in March decreased by 3.8% and amounted to 85.05 million dollars.
The Association They note that the decrease in foreign exchange earnings is related to the decline in world prices. In March, the average selling price of Ukrainian chicken decreased to $1.96 per kilogram.
The largest export destinations in the first quarter of 2026 were the Netherlands, which accounted for 18.9% of the total volume, the United Kingdom with a share of 12.4%, Slovakia with 10.1% and the UAE with 7.9%.
According to the association, according to the results of January-March, the share of EU countries in total exports was 35.8%, or 42.4 thousand tons.
At the same time, it is the European market that remains the most profitable, because in the first quarter of the year it provided 46.4% of the total revenue of Ukrainian poultry producers.
