In Norway, the humanoid “NEO Gamma”, capable of doing household chores, was presented
The Norwegian company “1X Technologies” presented a humanoid robot “NEO Gamma” worth 22,500 dollars, capable of performing all household duties. About this informs The Robotreport.
“The future is not so distant when each of us will have our own robot assistant at home. But in order for humanoid robots to truly integrate into everyday life, they must evolve together with people, not in isolation.” – said the CEO of 1X, Bernt Börnich.
Engineers have given NEO Gamma improved general purpose manipulation capabilities. The robot received a model of visual manipulation that allows it to recognize and select a wide range of objects in different conditions, in particular in environments that were not present during training. A humanoid can do laundry, make tea, wash windows, clean, turn on music and perform other tasks. It is charged while sitting on the couch.
In addition, 1X has developed a new proprietary Large Language Model (LLM) that enables natural conversation and body language. The “satellite” function includes a conversational voice interface. The company said these developments bring NEO closer to a user-friendly experience. The date of the start of sales of “NEO Gamma” is still unknown.
