In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a group of civilians attacked military units of the “Aidar”

A clash occurred in the city of Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region, involving servicemen of the 24th separate assault regiment “Aydar” and a group of civilians. According to information from the unit, the soldiers were attacked by six unknown individuals, one of whom used an object resembling a firearm during the conflict.

The regiment reported that at the time of the incident, the servicemen were off duty and engaged in personal affairs. According to them, they did not provoke the conflict or commit aggressive acts. Despite the fact that the law allows the use of weapons for self-defense, the fighters deliberately did not open fire in return so as not to endanger civilians who were nearby.

The unit emphasized that the military have the right to defend themselves in case of threat, and called on citizens to refrain from aggression towards the defenders.

The police reported the detention of two men involved in hooliganism. According to law enforcement officers, the suspects provoked a conflict with the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and during the clash, one of them fired several shots in their direction. One of the servicemen was also injured.

The incident occurred on February 20 at around 4:00 PM in the city center. As part of the primary investigative actions, law enforcement officers identified the participants in the conflict and detained them in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The detainees were local residents aged 37 and 42. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
