In the “Midas” case, law enforcement officers were interested in the decisions of the NABU and SAPO: Semen Kryvonos

Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) Semen Kryvonos announced that employees of a number of law enforcement agencies showed interest in the decisions of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court in the Midas case, which is being investigated by the NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP).

According to Kryvonos, among those who reviewed the information were four employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, one employee of the State Bureau of Investigation, two representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the deputy head of the Agency for Tracing and Asset Management, and one police officer.

“There is no logical explanation why in the register of court decisions by the number of our criminal proceedings such a wide range of persons not related to the proceedings tried to find out something by searching for the case number, as well as by the names of individual persons involved in this case,” — the head of the NABU emphasized, adding that this situation needs to be changed at the legislative level.

The head of the NABU detective group, Oleksandr Abakumov, explained that more than 10 thousand people in Ukraine have access to the register of court decisions, including representatives of law enforcement agencies, courts and services, which makes it difficult to maintain the secrecy of the investigation.

The head of the SAPO, Oleksandr Klymenko, called the register “leaky” because it allows you to track the progress of the investigation:

“When you search for a specific criminal case, its number, it gives you all the decisions that were deliberately issued on this proceedings. These decisions may already be implemented as searches, or they may not be implemented”.
