Innovations from “Ukrzaliznytsia” for Ukrainians planning to travel abroad

In August, Ukrainians planning to travel abroad by train will face an innovation from Ukrzaliznytsia. From now on, in order to buy tickets for international routes going to Poland, in particular to Chelm and Przemyśl, as well as to the Austrian capital Vienna and Slovakian Kosice, you will need to go through verification through the “Action. Signature” service.
This innovation was introduced in order to combat ticket speculation and unscrupulous activities of resellers, which is especially relevant in the period of increased demand for international flights. Such steps are aimed at ensuring fair access to tickets for all Ukrainians planning to travel abroad.
However, “Ukrzaliznytsia” took into account that not all citizens have the opportunity to use the “Diya” application. Therefore, the possibility of buying tickets for some international flights without mandatory verification was preserved. This decision will avoid restrictions for those who cannot pass the electronic identification procedure, while maintaining access to international travel.
It is worth noting that on other routes, such as Kyiv-Vienna or Kharkiv-Peremyshl, such a system is already in place, and passengers are successfully verified. This innovation will be in effect temporarily, during the peak months when demand for trips to Europe traditionally increases.
Passengers planning a trip are advised to prepare in advance for the new rules and undergo the necessary verification to avoid misunderstandings when purchasing tickets. Those who do not have the opportunity to use the Diya service can choose alternative flights where verification is not mandatory.
Changes in details:
- Main directions. The innovation concerns routes to Poland (Chelm, Przemyśl), Austria (Vienna) and Slovakia (Kosice). Other areas remain unchanged for now.
- The purpose of the innovation. Ensuring transparency and fairness in the distribution of tickets, combating speculation and peddlers.
- Alternatives. For those who cannot use the “Action” application, there are routes without mandatory verification, which allows citizens to have alternative travel options.
- Period of validity. The innovation will operate during peak months when demand for international travel increases, after which the advisability of its extension will be reviewed.
- Preliminary results. On already implemented routes, the verification system through “Diya” has shown its effectiveness, reducing the number of cases of ticket speculation.
Ukrainians who plan to travel should be aware of these changes and prepare for them in advance. This will help avoid misunderstandings and make the travel process more comfortable and safe.
