Iranian missiles can hit almost all of Europe except one country: Defense Express

Iran is believed to have ballistic missiles with a range of about 4,000 km, potentially allowing it to strike almost all of Europe, with the exception of Portugal. This was reported by the military portal Defense Express.

As the publication notes, Iran attempted to attack the US and UK naval base of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean with two ballistic missiles. Both failed to reach their targets: one fell early due to a technical malfunction, and the circumstances surrounding the second are still being clarified. American officials suggested that this could be Iran’s first combat use of medium-range ballistic missiles to strike outside the Middle East.

Analysts note that Iran previously stated that it limited the range of its missiles to 2,000 km, but in practice this information was not confirmed. According to preliminary estimates, the missiles used by Iran belong to the Khorramshahr type. Such missile systems can have a range of 3,000 to 5,500 km.

Taking into account the minimum distance to the Diego Garcia base, which is approximately 4,000 km, experts believe that Iran’s potential missile radius can cover a significant part of European countries.

At the same time, the material notes that Iran has previously officially announced the creation of missiles with a range of up to 12,000 km and corresponding combat capabilities, but their actual combat capability is still subject to assessment.
