Israel and Hamas launch second prisoner exchange
On January 30, the second exchange of prisoners between Israel and Hamas began, within which more than 100 Palestinian prisoners, as well as citizens of Thailand and Israel, are planned to be released. About this informs BBC.
Around 10 a.m. Kyiv time, militants handed over 20-year-old female soldier Agam Berger to the Red Cross. After her release, she went to visit representatives of the Israel Defense Forces and the Israel Security Agency in the Gaza Strip.
Two more Israeli citizens are expected to be among the freed hostages: 29-year-old civilian Arbel Yehud and 80-year-old civilian Gadi Mozes. In addition, Hamas must release five Thai nationals who were kidnapped on October 7, 2023, in an attack on a farm in southern Israel near the Gaza border.
At the same time, the Hamas-controlled Prisoners’ Press Service announced that Israel would release 110 Palestinian prisoners. Among them, 32 people were serving life sentences, 30 are women and children, and another 20 will be deported outside the Palestinian territories.
