On August 17 at 15:00 Kyiv time, another meeting of the Coalition of the Determined will be held, which includes key European leaders — President of France Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer and Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz.
As the French Embassy in Ukraine reported with reference to the Elysee Palace, the meeting will be held in the format of a video conference. About this informs The Guardian.
This event is of particular importance, because it will take place on the eve of the planned visit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi to Washington, which is expected on August 18. In Paris, it is emphasized that the three leading European politicians — Macron, Mertz and Starmer — will be the main participants of the online meeting and determine its agenda.
According to the French president’s office, the meeting is scheduled for the afternoon. Leaders are to discuss a common position among European nations following Donald Trump’s talks with Vladimir Putin in Alaska this week.
The meeting of the Coalition of the Determined will be an important stage in the coordination of actions before Zelenskyi’s trip to Washington and will serve as a platform for agreeing on the European strategy for further support to Ukraine.
