Japan is considering purchasing Ukrainian drones and technologies

The Japanese government is studying the option of purchasing Ukrainian-made attack drones and technologies for the country’s defense forces. This was reported by the Japanese 47news and Kyodo News, citing their own sources.

According to media reports, Japan’s interest is due to the successful use of Ukrainian drones on the front against Russia and the combat experience that allowed Ukraine to improve their development technologies.

The final decision on cooperation will be made after comparing the characteristics of Ukrainian drones with analogues from other countries, among which Israeli drones are being considered. At the same time, some Japanese government officials believe that Ukrainian drones may gain greater public support due to criticism of Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip and other Palestinian territories.

According to sources in diplomatic circles, it was Ukraine that proposed the deal. A representative of the Japanese Ministry of Defense noted that Ukrainian drones are resistant to electronic warfare and have a long flight range.

In addition to strengthening defense, Japan seeks to obtain Ukrainian technology for further domestic production of drones.
