Journalist’s Day of Ukraine – the holiday established by the presidential decree of May 25, 1994. June 6 – the day the Union of Journalists of Ukraine joined the International Federation of Journalists (1992). During the full-scale war in Ukraine, at least 91 journalists died.
Gardening Day – celebration of this day and commemoration of gardeners at the international level was initiated by the UN. Horticulture is an agricultural branch that includes the cultivation of fruit, berry and nut crops for the production of fruits, berries and nuts.
Open air cinema day – On June 6, 1933, the world’s first movie theater opened in the American city of Camden (New York), where you could watch a movie without leaving your car.
World Verneil’s Day – celebrated since 2012. Hidradenitis, hydrosadenitis, or Verneil’s disease – inflammation of the sweat glands. It is characterized by the appearance of painful nodules and abscesses on the skin. The disease is not considered dangerous or, even more so, threatening the patient’s life.

1889 – The Great Seattle Fire destroys all of downtown Seattle.
1889 — Ihor Sikorsky, Ukrainian-American engineer (aircraft designer) and entrepreneur, was born in Kyiv.
1918 — the first man-made disaster in the history of Kyiv.
As a result of the fire, which started suddenly, artillery shells and explosives were detonated, which were stored on the territory of warehouses located in the historical area of Kyiv, which is called Zvirynets. A series of powerful explosions almost completely destroyed a fairly densely populated area of the city and caused panic among the entire population of Kyiv.

In the preliminary report of the investigative commission, published a few days later, it was reported that the number of dead, according to approximate estimates, reached 200 people, and more than a thousand people were injured. A large area – more than 4 square kilometers – was affected by the ruptures of projectiles of various calibers. More than 900 houses burned during the fire and were destroyed by the blast wave. About 12,000 people were left homeless.
The perpetrators of the tragedy were never found.
