Karol Nawrocki was sworn in and officially became the President of Poland

On August 6, Karol Navrotsky officially composed took the oath and became the president of Poland, replacing Andrzej Duda.

The celebrations took place in Warsaw, in the building of the Seimas, during the session of the National Assembly — a joint session of the Seimas and the Senate. Marshal of the Polish Sejm Szymon Holovnia opened the meeting. The ceremony began with the performance of the national anthem. After that, Holovnya congratulated those present and invited Karol Navrotskyi to take the oath. He confirmed that Poland has a new head of state.

“Assuming the position of President of the Republic of Poland by the will of the people, I solemnly swear that I will remain faithful to the provisions of the Constitution, will steadfastly defend the dignity of the nation, the independence and security of the state, and that the good of the motherland and the prosperity of its citizens will always be my highest imperative. May God help me.” Navrotsky announced during the swearing-in.

The newly appointed president was greeted with loud applause by deputies of the “Law and Justice” party. The inauguration was attended by former president Andrzej Duda and his wife, as well as members of the government, including Prime Minister Donald Tusk. After the oath, Karol Navrotsky addressed the National Assembly with a speech. During the day, several official events dedicated to his inauguration are held in Poland.

In the Royal Castle, the new president is presented with the highest state awards – the Order of the White Eagle and the Order of the Renaissance of Poland. These awards are traditionally given to all newly elected presidents at the beginning of their term.

After the award ceremony, Navrotsky and the first lady will solemnly arrive at the presidential palace, which will be their official residence for the next five years. The final stage of the inauguration day will be a ceremony on Józef Pilsudski Square near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where Nawrocki will receive the powers of Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Armed Forces.
