Korchynskyi’s radical appeals regarding the compulsory leaving of Ukrainian children in the Motherland caused a wide resonance
The scandalous statement by Dmytro Korchynskyi, known for his radical views and ambiguous actions, once again attracted the attention of society. His words about the need to ban children from traveling abroad caused a flurry of discussions. In his speech on the “Great Lviv Speaks” program, he emphasized that Ukrainians should “step on the throat of their convenience” and sacrifice not only personal freedoms, but also the safety of their children for the sake of the nation’s survival. Such statements, especially during a military conflict, call into question the rights and freedoms of citizens, leading to even greater social and political divisions.
Ukrainian politician and public figure Dmytro Korchynskyi believes that Ukrainians should significantly limit their rights, in particular, regarding the departure of children abroad during the war. In his opinion, national survival poses new challenges to society, and some “conveniences” to which people are accustomed should remain in the past. Korchynskyi directly states: children who are abroad during the war will not have any incentive to return to Ukraine. They will be brought up in a different culture, which will lead to a loss of national identity.
“In the name of the survival of the nation, it is necessary to ban the departure not only of men conscripted into the military, but also the departure of children. I understand that it is easier for many to keep their children abroad while the war is going on, but we understand that those children will not return to Ukraine. They will not be raised by Ukrainians. What incentive will they have to return to Ukraine?”, Korchynskyi said.
Citing the example of China, where adoption by foreigners and the taking of children abroad are prohibited, Korchynskyi emphasizes that even countries with a billion people strive to avoid demographic crises. In Ukraine, where a demographic crisis was observed even before the war, the situation is becoming critical due to migration, especially of children.
Korchynsky proposes radical measures: Ukrainian children should grow up in war conditions, hear the sirens of air raids, participate in the funerals of fallen soldiers and civilians, as well as be aware of the danger and their future responsibility for the fate of the country. He emphasizes that love for Ukraine must be imposed, even if it contradicts the personal wishes of citizens.
“If someone does not understand that it is necessary to love Ukraine, then we will oblige him, whether he likes it or not. We will oblige him to stay here, we will oblige him to fight here or support the front. Ukrainian children should not hear Polish or German in They must be brought up to the sound of air sirens. They must be present at the funerals of our heroes and civilians. They must be aware of the danger that will soon fall on their shoulders the country when the previous generations die”, – emphasized Korchynskyi.
