The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, compared Russian President Vladimir Putin to a “donkey”, the Chinese leader to a “master”, and called the Russian delegation “polite people”.

The journalist of the TV channel “Russia 1” asked Lavrov questions about the topics that the leaders of the Russian Federation and China will discuss in an informal setting. The minister replied that he did not know what Putin and Xi would talk about personally.
“You know, as they say in the East, the guest is the owner’s donkey. All programs, of course, depend on those kind offers that the Chinese president and his team made to our president. All these details were agreed upon according to the protocol, so it all depends on the hosts. And we are polite people, especially when we are visiting”, said Lavrov.
