Leaders and outsiders among countries for doing business: EIU ranking

According to rating EIU Singapore remains the world’s best country to do business for 17 years in a row. Denmark and the USA are in second and third place, respectively.

«Singapore will remain the best place in the world to do business, as it has been for the past 16 years, – said EIU forecasting manager and analyst for Europe Prianti Roy.

The factors determining Southeast Asia’s place as the best place to do business, she said, are its political stability and the government’s focus on helping domestic private companies to upgrade technologically.

The fourth and fifth places in the EIU ranking were taken by Germany and Switzerland, while Canada, Sweden, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Finland round out the top ten countries for doing business. These countries with developed economies for a long time occupy high positions in the EIU index, which makes them safe objects for investment.
