The modern world is impressive with its diversity and specialization of countries in the production and consumption of various goods. Each country has its own uniqueness and influence on the global economy through its own production capacity, technology and cultural traditions.  In this context, it is important to consider not only the quantitative indicators of production, but also the impact on the economy, society and culture of each country.

IA “FAKT” analyzed and collected interesting facts about which countries and in which types of production are the leaders of the world economy and consumption, as well as what they are famous for.

Ukraine — Europe’s leader in the production of sunflower oil. Even in times of war, it produces more oil than all EU countries combined. Ukraine is also a major producer of sunflower meal, which is used for animal feed.

Also, Ukraine is one of the world’s largest exporters of corn. In addition, Ukraine has one of the largest land resources in Europe and occupies an important place in the cultivation of grain crops.

Czech Republic — leader in beer. On average, each resident drinks 136 liters of beer per year, which is twice as much as in Germany (92 liters).

Austria — the leader in the use of dishwashing detergents. On average, each Austrian spends 13.5 euros on such products annually, which is more than the Germans (10.7 euros).

Belgium — the EU leader in the production of non-ferrous metals, as well as the leader in ice cream consumption. On average, each resident consumes 11.5 kg of ice cream per year, which is more than in Germany. In addition, the Belgian city of Antwerp is famous for diamond jewelry, it is considered the “diamond” center of the world.

Georgia — the leader in the production of hazelnuts. Also, according to the UNESCO statistical office, Georgia is the world leader in the number of library books per capita. There are 15,400 books in the country’s libraries for every thousand inhabitants. In addition, Georgia is the leader in the age of the first birth of a child. The average age at birth of the first child in Georgia is 25.9 years.

Poland — the leader in the use of perfumes. 78% of Poles regularly use perfume.

Netherlands — a leader in growing flowers and plants for export. This country is famous for its tulips and other flowers, which are exported all over the world.

Denmark — the leader in the use of bicycles. Every second resident of Denmark uses a bicycle as the main means of transport.

Germany — one of the largest car manufacturers in the world. The country is known for its high-tech car brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen and others.

France — a leader in grape cultivation and wine production. France is known for its wine regions such as Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy and others.

Italy — a leader in the production of pasta products. Italian pasta is known for its variety and quality, and is also one of the symbols of the country’s culture.

United Kingdom — a leader in the production of musical performers and musical groups that enjoy worldwide success. The UK is known for its diverse music scene which includes The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Adele, Ed Sheeran and many more.

Switzerland — a leader in the production and export of garlic oil. This country is known for its high quality garlic oil, which is widely used in gastronomy around the world.

Denmark — the leader in the use of bicycles. Every second resident of Denmark uses a bicycle as the main means of transport.

USA — a leader in the production of software and information systems technologies. They also produce a significant part of the global volume of high-tech products, including medical devices and equipment.

Australia — the world’s largest exporter of coal and iron ore. The country also produces significant amounts of grain and meat.

Canada — the largest producer of barley and crude oil. The country is also known for its large production of forest resources and metals.

Every country in the world has unique resources, technologies and cultural aspects that determine its leadership in the production of certain goods. This leadership is not only reflected in production volumes, but also affects international relations and economic stability. This analysis highlights the importance of each country as a unique player in the global economy, contributing to the development of innovation and improving the quality of life of people around the world.
