Lithuania allocated EUR 10 million for the rehabilitation of the Ukrainian military

The Lithuanian government has decided to allocate a new package of humanitarian aid to the country. The total amount of the tranche will be EUR 12.7 million. Most of the allocated funds will be directed to programs for the rehabilitation of Ukrainian military personnel.

The new package of humanitarian aid from Lithuania will be distributed as follows: 10 million euros will go to the rehabilitation of war victims, and another 2.7 million will go to the reconstruction of a school in Mykolaiv as part of the project “Renovation and Restoration of the Green Forest School”.

Half of the amount for the repair of the educational institution was allocated from the state budget appropriations of the Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Fund, the remaining amount – from the contribution of the target partner.

The project for financing the recovery of the military was named “Rehabilitation and reintegration of the wounded and victims of the war in Ukraine.” Its implementation will last for two years.

10 million euros will be allocated to the reconstruction of the spinal cord injury rehabilitation center of the Dnipro State University Hospital (up to 2.5 million euros), to the reconstruction of the Unbroken department of the Lviv City Rehabilitation Center in the village of Bryukhovychy (up to 5.6 million euros). In addition, about 1.9 million euros will be allocated for institutions and organizations that carry out activities related to rehabilitation and reintegration services, as well as for administrative costs related to the implementation of the project.

We remind you that Lithuania is already implementing the project “Future School for Ukraine”, within which several projects will be created for the construction or reconstruction of educational institutions. Also, the partner country has already rebuilt a school in Borodyanka and a kindergarten in Irpen with its own funds.
