Lubinets reported on Qatar’s assistance in obtaining lists of missing soldiers and letters from prisoners

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported about important humanitarian progress: thanks to cooperation with Qatar, it was possible to obtain lists of Ukrainian soldiers who have disappeared, as well as letters from prisoners of war addressed to their relatives. In addition, the possibility of speeding up the exchange of prisoners of war was discussed during the negotiations.

As part of his official visit to Qatar, Lubinets met with Lolwa Rashid Al Khater, Minister of International Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar. According to him, the Qatari side is actively helping to find ways to speed up military exchanges and provide support to Ukrainian citizens who are in difficult circumstances.

Thanks to Qatari mediation, agreements were reached to help civilians, including restoring their personal documents, which is crucial for those who have been forced to leave their homes and need legal support.

“I thank the State of Qatar for its mediation efforts in resolving humanitarian issues“, Lubinets emphasized.

Qatar also mediates the return of illegally deported and forcibly displaced Ukrainian children, providing assistance in their return home.
