Luxembourg joins the Drone Coalition, becoming the 17th partner country

Luxembourg has joined the international initiative known as the Drone Coalition, becoming the 17th partner country. About it on October 3 reported Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Kateryna Chernogorenko, Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Technologies, said that the key goal of this initiative is the development of industrial production of FPV drones both in Ukraine and in Western countries. This will create an asymmetric technological advantage over the enemy in the long term. Plans also include scaling up production of these drones.

“We are pleased to welcome Luxembourg to the coalition. This country has been a constant supporter of our military over the past years, and now it will also contribute to the development of the drone industry.” Chernogorenko noted.

We will remind you that in September, Ukrainian drone manufacturers got the opportunity to participate in international tenders within the coalition for the first time. To do this, they must register on the official website of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain and submit an application. Applications are open until October 14 for advanced FPV drones and November 11 for interceptor drones. After that, the coalition member countries will consider the proposals received.

Companies that win the tenders will receive orders for the production of drones that will be tested and evaluated. If this stage is successful, much larger orders for FPV drones will be placed.

The Drone Coalition was created in February 2024 during the 19th Rammstein Meeting. The initiative belongs to Latvia and is coordinated jointly with Great Britain.

At this moment, Ukraine has already received thousands of drones from partner countries. According to the plans, another 20-30 thousand drones will be purchased and delivered with the funds accumulated within the coalition.
