World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development – celebrated from 2022 on the initiative of the UN. Designed to provide an opportunity to understand the meaning and value of different cultures. The UN decided to honor cultural diversity with a separate mark in the calendar after the Bamiyan Buddha statues were destroyed in Afghanistan in 2001.
International Tea Day – the holiday took on a global scale only in 2020. It is most actively celebrated by the countries producing the fragrant drink – India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, Vietnam, Kenya, Malaysia, etc. If you have long wanted to replace your morning coffee with tea, today is a great opportunity to do so.

1503 – the famous traveler Christopher Columbus discovered the Cayman Islands.
1831 – “Ukrainian Almanac” was printed in Kharkiv. This is the first such publication in Ukraine.

1921 — Andrei Sakharov, physicist, creator of the Soviet hydrogen bomb, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, active fighter for human rights, was born.
1937 — for the first time, an expedition landed at the North Pole, which arrived on a drifting station.
1969 – Heorhiy Gongadze was born, a Ukrainian journalist and public figure, the investigation into whose murder (year 2000) has not been completed until now.
