Mobile operators of Ukraine and the EU have agreed not to raise roaming tariffs until the end of the year

Ukrainian and European mobile operators have agreed to extend until the end of the year the validity of the Joint Statement, which ensures the use of mobile communication in roaming at reduced tariffs. About this reported The National Commission for State Regulation in the Fields of Electronic Communications, Radio Frequency Spectrum and the Provision of Postal Services (NKEK).

“Ukrainian operators have already confirmed their readiness to extend the validity of the Joint Statement, realizing its critical importance for millions of Ukrainians who are forced to stay abroad due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine. The European side has also expressed preliminary readiness to extend the validity of the Joint Statement from July to the end of December 2025.”, the message says.

NKEK emphasized that the current Joint Statement is valid until July 9, 2025. Currently, the commission, together with the European Commission and operators, is working on extending its validity until December 31, 2025, which will allow the transition to the Roam like at home (RLAH) model in Ukraine from January 1, 2026.

“Regarding the tariffs, it should be noted that their final cost is formed taking into account the cost of services, including the costs of inter-operator settlements, access to networks, as well as the specifics of the market of each specific country. That is why maintaining the agreements laid down within the framework of the Joint Statement is a key tool for protecting consumers from a sharp increase in the cost of roaming services“, – noted in NKEK.

Thanks to the Joint Statement, Ukrainians can use mobile communication services on the territory of EU countries at reduced rates or without additional surcharges at all, which significantly brings the conditions closer to the full-fledged RLAH model, which already operates within the European Union.
