Money, a car and even a crypt: what judges and their relatives indicate in their declarations

The campaign to declare the incomes of Ukrainians for 2023 is coming to an end. Among the list of citizens who must submit reports to the tax service are high-ranking officials and judges. Among the declared property are both the usual plots of land, money and real estate, as well as unusual objects. For example, the father of Constitutional Court judge Oksana Hryshchuk declared a crypt.

Viktor Hryschuk, who was a member of the High Council of Justice in 2019-2022 and headed it for some time, included an undertaker in Lviv in the declaration. The judge’s father bought the cellar with an area of 12.5 square meters back in 2009 for UAH 55,000.

In addition, the former head of the Supreme Council of Justice owns two cars. Viktor Hryshchuk bought one of them (Toyota RAV4 2021) on December 9, 2022 for 936,000 hryvnias. The second car (2021 Ford Bronco SUV) was bought on September 2, 2023 for UAH 645,000.

According to the results of 2023, the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, Oksana Hryschuk, together with her father, received 4 million hryvnias from salary alone.

We will remind that for the past year in Ukraine the number of millionaires has increased. The number of citizens who, according to the results of 2023, declared an annual income in the amount of more than UAH 1 million is 10.7 thousand people. This is 1.2 thousand more people than in 2022.
