Ukraine is increasing gas production. Of the 36 new gas wells launched by Naftogaz during the first 5 months of 2024, 11 are producing more than 100,000 cubic meters of blue fuel per day.
In general, in January-May, the volume of gas production in the country increased by 10%, compared to the indicators of the first five months of 2023. The pace of gas accumulation in storage facilities also accelerated.
“Our production during the first five months of 2024 increased by 10% compared to the same period last year. This is the result of the painstaking work of our specialists. Already at the beginning of the year, they showed better drilling results, we have 11 high-throughput wells. This is an important result, we aim to maintain the pace and achieve an increase in production by the end of the year. This year, Naftogaz Group is accumulating fuel in its gas stations faster than last year – currently the rate of injection exceeds the figures of the same period in 2023 by 0.33 billion cubic meters,” the head of the group notes of “Naftogaz” companies Oleksiy Chernyshov.
In addition, this year in the field of gas production set a record. In April, BU “Ukrburgaz” (a division of Naftogaz of Ukraine, which is responsible for production preparation) set a historically high drilling rate of 40,059 meters. This is 24% more than the previous record figure, which was recorded in November last year.
Oil production is also increasing in Ukraine. Such trends in the industry contribute to increasing the filling of the state budget and increasing the level of energy independence of the country.
