The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has begun testing new models of demi-season and winter uniforms designed specifically for female servicewomen. This was reported by the Ministry’s press service.
According to the report, field tests of demi-seasonal uniforms are currently underway. The first samples of winter uniforms have also been prepared, which will soon undergo research tests.
Deputy Minister of Defence Serhiy Melnyk noted that the testing process is progressing slowly, as manufacturers show little interest in providing test samples.
The Ministry is also taking into account the results of summer tests of field uniforms and underwear. Changes to the technical characteristics of certain items of clothing are planned, based on feedback from women serving.
In addition, Melnyk stressed that it is necessary to ensure the supply of body armour designed specifically for women to meet protection standards but with reduced weight of armour plates.
