The construction of fortifications is being completed around Odessa, which are intended to strengthen the city’s defense and prepare it for a perimeter defense. These include multi-kilometer anti-tank ditches, dugouts, “dragon’s teeth” and barbed wire barriers. This was reported by the regional department of the Territorial Defense Forces “South”. The department noted that such work is being carried out in advance. Their goal is to prevent the landing of troops or any attempt to attack Odessa.
“Reliable defense does not increase, but rather reduces the risk that the enemy will move here in the foreseeable future,” the Territorial Defense Forces “South” administration emphasized.
Defensive lines are being set up not only near Odessa, but also in other strategic areas. In particular, Volodymyr Zelensky reported on the strengthening of fortifications in the north of Ukraine – in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.
According to the head of state, additional strengthening of the border is necessary to protect against possible threats from the territory of the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation and Belarus.
