North Korea meets 50% of Russia’s ammunition needs: Budanov

As of February 2025, North Korea provides 50% of Russia’s ammunition in the war against Ukraine. About this reported head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence Kyrylo Budanov.

“In this aspect, one cannot fail to mention their strategic ally, North Korea, which covers 50% of all, let’s say, ammunition costs of the front. 50% of the ammunition is Korean ammunition. Similarly, the large-scale supply of weapons began.

First of all, these are 170-mm self-propelled howitzers and 240-mm rocket salvo systems. Everyone already knows the fact of the use of Korean military personnel in the Kursk region, but this is a fact. North Korea takes an active part in the war against us, supporting the Russian Federation”, the message says.

Budanov also commented on Russia’s use of North Korean servicemen on the territory of Kurshchyna:

“The original group consisted of almost 12,000 people, as of now, about 4,000 of these people are, let’s say, disabled, that is, they are seriously wounded and killed, their replacements are being prepared, but they have not yet arrived at the front. That is, you can safely subtract 4 from the 12,000 figures, and you will get 8 – this is the approximate number of the group that is still active now.”
