Oleksandr Lukashenko declared readiness for a “big deal” from the USA
President of Belarus Oleksandr Lukashenko said that he is ready for a “big deal” with the United States. He announced this during a meeting on the development of Belarusian-American relations.
“Our policy to restore relations with the USA should be built exclusively in the interests of Belarus. We will wait for their offer of a big deal (big deal – ed.) We are ready to make a big deal with them. Their questions, requests and demands are on one side of the scales, our questions and demands are on the other side of the scales. Do we decide? Let’s decide. We are ready for that,” Lukashenko explained.
He noted that he is satisfied with the proposal of US President Donald Trump, however, according to him, it is necessary to take into account the interests of Belarus. He also commented on Washington’s policy on achieving peace for Ukraine. According to him, Ukraine should exist as a sovereign, independent, peace-loving state and should not create any problems or threats for anyone.
“We are for the war to be stopped now. Otherwise, Ukraine will disappear as a sovereign state. If the Americans want to settle the conflict in Ukraine and see a small role for us there, we are ready to take part in it. We have declared our position – peace and only peace,’ said the President of Belarus.
In addition, Lukashenko spoke about his recent meetings with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. According to him, the Russian leadership is determined to establish peace.
