Over the course of six months, sappers restored more than 156,600 hectares of agricultural land
The Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yuliya Svyridenko, emphasized that the sappers demonstrate a high rate of work
During the first half of the year, sappers returned to economic use more than 156.6 thousand hectares of agricultural land, which were surveyed and cleared. In total, since the beginning of the year, more than 171.7 thousand hectares of land designated for priority demining have been surveyed.
About this reported Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. In particular, in the Kherson region, almost 60% of planned agricultural land for this year has already been checked and returned to use. Most agricultural lands were surveyed in:
- Kherson region: 146.3 thousand ha (in June – 17.76 thousand ha)
- Kharkiv region: 11.3 thousand hectares (in June – 4.55 thousand hectares)
- Mykolaiv region: 8.3 thousand hectares (in June – 1.67 thousand hectares)
The Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yuliya Svyridenko, emphasized that the sappers demonstrate a high rate of work. For example, in the Kherson region, almost 60% of agricultural land planned for this year has already been surveyed and returned to use. In total, since the beginning of 2024, more than 156.6 thousand hectares of land have been restored to economic use in Ukraine.
An increase in the number of certified mine action operators was also noted: currently there are already 43 of them, and another 52 are in the process of certification.
