Own business: 15,000 Ukrainians will receive micro-grants for business development

More than 16,000 Ukrainians have become winners of the “Own business” program and will receive micro-grants from the state in the total amount of UAH 3.8 billion. They will be able to spend these funds on starting or developing their business.

Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tetyana Berezhna noted:

“Most of the winners plan to invest the grant in developing their business, increasing the volume of products or services, mastering new types of activities. This will lead to the creation of more than 35 thousand new jobs in all regions of the country“.

Among the winners of the seventh wave of the program:

  • 50% – women;
  • 41% – men;
  • 9% – legal entities.
  • More than 75% of them have higher education.

The most active regions:

  • Lviv region (70 grants);
  • Ivano-Frankivsk region (60 grants);
  • Kyiv region (42 grants);
  • Kyiv (39 grants)

The most popular areas of activity:

Wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles (169 grants). Temporary accommodation and catering (94 grants). Processing industry (69 grants).
