Pavel Durov’s supervision was eased and he was allowed to visit Dubai

The Paris Court of Appeal granted the Telegram company’s request to ease supervision conditions for messenger founder Pavel Durov, allowing him to visit Dubai. About this informsThe World.

According to the decision, starting from July 10, 2025, Durov will be able to leave France for a period of up to 14 days, but only to Dubai, having previously informed the judge. He must also post bail of 5 million euros and report to the authorities twice a week. Other conditions of supervision remain unchanged.

One of his lawyers, David-Olivier Kaminsky, noted that “the support of such strict judicial control was groundless and made no sense, just like the charges brought forward by the prosecutor’s office.”

“I understand that all this takes time. But why should I stay in France waiting? My lawyers have submitted all the documents that were required of us to the court.”— Durov said.

He also drew attention to the “very serious health problems” of his parents, who “statistically only have a few years left to live”, as well as his absence from his youngest son, who was recently born in Dubai.

“He still doesn’t have a passport because I wasn’t there when he was born. I also have a teenage son at boarding school in Dubai who just broke his arm and has no parents around to support him.” — explained the founder of Telegram.

It will be recalled that in May, the French authorities refused Durov permission to travel to the USA, where he intended to hold negotiations with investment funds.
