Ireland is reducing aid for Ukrainian refugees. A third of migrants, which is about 27,000 of our fellow citizens, will now pay 6 times less.

Payments for refugees who arrived earlier amounted to 220 euros per week. Now the Cabinet of Ireland decided to equalize both categories of migrants.

However, aid will not be cut for everyone. The changes concern 27,000 Ukrainian refugees. who live in government-funded accommodation, such as hotels, where they are provided with meals and other services. In general, about 47,000 Ukrainians in Ireland use free housing, but more than 19,000 of them currently work and do not receive social assistance.
