People’s deputies summoned Shmyhal to the parliament to ask about demobilization

People’s deputies summoned the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal to the parliament to discuss the draft law on demobilization. About this reported People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
The decision to summon the prime minister was supported by 158 deputies with the required 150 votes. The specific date of the speech has not been determined, but Zheleznyak noted that Shmyhal will traditionally speak on Friday during the hour of questions to the government.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense appealed to the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence with a request to postpone the preparation of the draft law on the demobilization of servicemen until March 18, 2025.
We will remind that on April 11, 2024, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on mobilization. On the initiative of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, the provision on the discharge of military personnel from service was excluded from the document. The Parliament obliged the Ministry of Defense to develop a corresponding draft law within eight months.
Committee secretary Roman Kostenko announced in November that work on the draft law was planned to be completed by December 18, 2024. However, the terms of development have been postponed, and this issue remains the subject of discussion at the level of the parliament and the government.
