Poland transferred 30 thousand packages of antibiotics to Ukraine as humanitarian aid

Ukraine has received humanitarian aid from the government of the Republic of Poland — 30 thousand packages of an antibiotic based on amoxicillin, produced by a Polish pharmaceutical company. The drug has passed all the necessary laboratory tests and meets European quality standards, reports the press service of the Ministry of Health.

“Ensuring continuous access to quality medical products is one of our main priorities. And this aid is a significant contribution to the common cause of protecting the health of Ukrainians”, — said Oleksandr Zaika, a specialist in the Department of Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The transfer of medicines took place at the Lviv Regional Hospital for War Veterans and Victims of Repression named after Yu. Lypa. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Lviv Regional Military Administration and the Polish delegation, including the Chairman of the Cooperation Council with Ukraine Pavel Koval, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv Piotr Lukasiewicz, Vice-President of TZF “Polfa” S.A. Marcin Shafranets and the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv Marek Radziwon.

“We are sincerely grateful to the Polish people for their constant support of Ukraine — both humanitarian and professional. This assistance testifies to a true partnership and joint concern for health. Together we are strengthening the health care system and bringing closer the victory of humanity over war,” said the acting Minister. Director of the Health Department of Lviv Regional Hospital Viktoriya Moisey.

Ukraine and Poland have a long history of partnership in the field of medicine – the countries cooperated during the COVID-19 pandemic, jointly organized the treatment of the wounded and continue to develop cooperation in the field of public health, medical education and pharmaceutical production.

In the conditions of war, Poland has become one of the key medical partners of the Ukrainian healthcare system. The Polish Ministry of Health supports the Ukrainian medical evacuation team 24/7, assists in transporting victims to hospitals in the EU and the USA, and regularly transfers necessary medicines.
