Police officers suspended after searches in porn office network case

The leadership of the National Police has removed from duty officials who are undergoing criminal proceedings regarding the possible receipt of illegal benefits. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine on Telegram.

According to the National Police, the case concerns employees of individual regional police units. The pre-trial investigation into them is being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General’s Office.

“The Head of the National Police initiated an internal investigation, within the framework of which four police officers were suspended from service. Personnel decisions will be made regarding them in the near future based on the results of the internal investigation,” the police assured.

The National Police also stated that they fully cooperate with the investigation and are interested in a comprehensive, objective and impartial investigation of all the circumstances of the proceedings. Law enforcement officers emphasized that cleansing the system of dishonest employees remains one of the main priorities of the National Police.

“Any manifestations of corruption or abuse of official position will be met with a tough and principled response, regardless of position, special rank, or merit,” the report said.

Previously, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches in territorial police units in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Zhytomyr regions in a case to ensure the unhindered operation of a network of so-called porn offices.

Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko stated that the leadership of territorial police units in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Zhytomyr regions could to facilitate the unhindered operation of the network of so-called porn offices. These are premises where erotic and pornographic video productions were illegally created, produced and distributed via the Internet.

During searches at top officials of the National Police, an elite car fleet and 22.6 million UAH in cash were seized.
