Powerful rocket strikes in Kharkiv injure people, damage at least 27 buildings (video)

On January 2, at least 27 buildings were damaged in the Kyiv and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kharkiv as a result of an attack by Russian troops with ballistic missiles. This was reported by the Kharkiv City Council on its Telegram channel.

The missile attack occurred at around 2:30 p.m. According to the latest data, 30 people were injured as a result of the attack. As a result of the impact, 872 windows were broken in apartments, 104 in entrances, and 12 roofs were damaged. The torn street lighting wires have already been restored.

City Mayor Igor Terekhov said that the enemy used ballistic missiles. As a result of the shelling, not only residential buildings but also city infrastructure facilities suffered significant damage.

“The shopping center was completely destroyed. There were a lot of damaged residential buildings on Sumska and Mironosytska streets. Thousands of windows were broken. The hospital was damaged – more than 100 windows were broken there alone,”, – reported Igor Terekhov.

The mayor also reported that the rocket strike damaged the heating networks in buildings located near the impact site, as well as the power grid that provides the operation of city electric transport. Because of this, trolleybuses on Sumska Street and trams on Mironosytska Street have been temporarily suspended.

Utility workers continue to eliminate the consequences and repair damaged objects.
