Ukraine has started accepting applications for subsidies for cotton cultivation
The State Agrarian Register has begun accepting applications for receiving budget subsidies for agricultural producers engaged in cotton cultivation. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
This initiative is aimed at restoring the cultivation of a strategically important crop – cotton – in the south of Ukraine.
“Given the climatic conditions of the south, the experience of scientists and the interest of farmers – this is real. State support – UAH 10,000 per hectare for this year’s harvest can be received by farmers who grow cotton in Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.” – explained Minister of Agrarian Policy Vitaly Koval.
Legal entities and natural persons-entrepreneurs who are engaged in growing cotton in Odesa, Mykolaiv or Kherson regions, are registered in the State Agrarian Register, have no debts to the budget, are not in a state of bankruptcy or liquidation, have not been criminally liable, have no convictions and are not wanted can apply.
In addition, the applicants must not be included in the sanctions lists or in the Unified State Register of persons who have committed corruption offenses, and must not carry out economic activities in the temporarily occupied territories, as well as in Russia or the Republic of Belarus. Payments are scheduled to start on September 15.
