Prosecutor General Kostin revealed how Deputy Dmytruk was able to escape from Ukraine
Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin commented on the flight of People’s Deputy Artem Dmytrouk abroad, expressing deep indignation at this incident and talking about the measures taken by Ukrainian law enforcement officers.
Speaking at the “Ukraine 2024. Independence” forum, Kostin noted that immediately after receiving information about a possible illegal crossing of the border, criminal proceedings were initiated.
“Investigators, prosecutors and employees of the state border service work almost around the clock”, – emphasized the Prosecutor General.
Kostin also reported that the investigation established that Dmytruk crossed the border in the area bordering the so-called Transnistria.
“We realize that he could not have crossed the border on his own. He was clearly helped by someone.”Kostin noted.
The Prosecutor General also added that the law enforcement officers have information about Dmytrouk’s current location. Kostin urged the deputy to voluntarily return to Ukraine and appear for interrogation on the set dates – Thursday and Friday. Otherwise, the prosecutor’s office will apply to the court to choose a preventive measure, declare him wanted and send a request for extradition.
“We will continue to take all necessary measures for his return to Ukraine, using international legal mechanisms, if he does not do so voluntarily.”Kostin said.
We will remind that on August 26 it became known about Dmytrouk’s flight abroad. A video from Chisinau airport showing his departure appeared in some mass media.
