Putin called foreign troops in Ukraine a “legitimate target” for Russia
President of the Russian Federation Volodymyr Putin spoke about the possible presence of foreign troops in Ukraine, saying that any foreign contingent on Ukrainian territory would become a “legitimate target for Russia”.
Putin noted that he has no problems communicating with US President Donald Trump. He added that if long-term agreements are reached, Moscow is ready to implement them, and that is why the contingent in Ukraine has nothing to do.
The head of the Russian Federation emphasized that the appearance of any troops on the territory of Ukraine during hostilities, especially now, will be perceived by Russia as a “legal target for destruction”:
“As for possible contingents of the military in Ukraine, well, this is one of the primary reasons for the involvement of Ukraine in NATO, therefore, if any troops appear there, especially now, in the course of hostilities, we assume that they will be legitimate targets for destruction.
We remind you that on September 4, a meeting of European leaders took place in Paris with the participation of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. French President Emmanuel Macron announced that 26 countries of the Coalition willingly agreed to either send troops to Ukraine or provide the necessary means to support coalition forces on land, sea and in the air.
According to Macron, the “coalition of the willing” aims to provide resources to rebuild the Ukrainian army so that it can not only repel new attacks, but also deter Russia from further aggression.
