Unknown drones disrupted the operation of an airport in Norway
On October 6, the work of the international airport in Oslo, Norway, was temporarily disrupted due to the appearance of unknown drones. This is reported by NRK publication.
“After midnight, the Eastern Police District received a report that the pilot of a Norwegian plane thought he saw drones while landing at Oslo Airport. Police sent a crew to the scene and contacted the flight crew to get more information about the sighting, – the message says.
According to preliminary data, three to five drones were spotted in the air near the airport. A police crew arrived at the scene and contacted the pilot to clarify the details. The police noted that information about the presence of drones has not yet been confirmed, and the investigation is ongoing. Due to the incident, several planes were forced to circle above the runway for some time, but no rerouting of flights took place.
Later, law enforcement officers and the administration of Gardermoen Airport reported that the airport was operating as usual, and the incident resulted in only minor flight delays.
Let us remind you that recently in the northern countries of NATO, more and more cases of the appearance of unknown drones over strategic objects have been recorded. So, on September 27, drones were spotted in the area of the Norwegian Erland Air Base, where F-35 fighters are located and NATO exercises are conducted. The next day, September 28, a passenger plane that was supposed to take off from Oslo to Bardufoss was forced to return due to the appearance of a drone in the air.
Similar incidents also occurred on September 22, when unknown drones were spotted over the territory of Norway and Denmark, which temporarily suspended the work of airports in Copenhagen and Oslo. Last week, it was also reported that 15 drones were seen above the Belgian military base in Elsenborn near the border with Germany, which is currently being investigated by the army.
