Released Ukrainian soldiers will receive 50,000 hryvnias per month during treatment

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted draft law №13627, which introduces monthly payments of 50,000 hryvnias for servicemen released from captivity who require long-term inpatient treatment. Such payments will be provided during the first three months of treatment. 244 people’s deputies voted for the document, reports people’s deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko.

The law establishes that military personnel who, after being released from captivity, require inpatient treatment for more than 30 days, will receive monthly financial assistance in the amount of 50,000 hryvnias. Payments will continue for three months from the start of treatment. In addition, the document regulates the procedure for issuing certificates of injuries, wounds, contusions, mutilations or diseases received in captivity.

If earlier such payments were provided only to those military personnel who were injured in captivity, now the support extends to those who received serious illnesses or had them aggravated in captivity. This makes it possible to reach a wider range of servicemen who need help during recovery after being held captive by the enemy.

The adoption of the draft law is intended to provide the necessary financial support for defenders of Ukraine released from captivity and to remove bureaucratic barriers so that they can focus on treatment and health restoration.
