Representatives of the EU, the US and China held a meeting regarding the trade agreement
US President Donald Trump announced that representatives of the United States, China and the European Union held a meeting dedicated to the trade agreement. According to Trump, the meeting went “very well”.
“An agreement was also reached on “certain” the company that young people in our country really wanted to save. They will be very happy!” – said Donald Trump.
It was about the TikTok social network, owned by the Chinese company ByteDance. The United States previously passed a law requiring TikTok to be sold to American investors or to block access to the service in the country.
Trump also announced a phone conversation with Chinese leader Xi Jinping scheduled for September 19, stressing that he has “great” relations with the Chinese leader.
Recall that on September 12, it became known that the US Treasury called on the G7 countries and EU allies to introduce “substantial tariffs” on goods from China and India in order to limit purchases of Russian oil and increase pressure on the Russian Federation.
China responded by threatening to take decisive action if US-influenced NATO countries tried to impose tariffs on its purchases of Russian oil.
