Volkswagen recalls almost 180 thousand cars
Volkswagen is recalling 177,493 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport crossovers in the U.S. due to the risk of the engine cover detaching and causing a fire. About this informs Reuters.
After servicing, the engine cover may have been improperly secured. This could cause it to disconnect and come into contact with hot surfaces, creating a potential fire hazard.
The problem concerns cars of 2024-2025 model years. Owners of these vehicles will be offered free engine cover removal at dealerships.
It will be recalled that the billionaire family, which controls Volkswagen and Porsche, announced on February 26 plans to expand the investment portfolio to reduce dependence on the struggling automobile business. Prior to this, the investment company has already invested in Flix, the owner of Greyhound in the US, the drone manufacturer Quantum Systems and the startup Waabi, which develops technologies for autonomous trucks.
